I have some bad news for those who think photography ends by the moment the sun is disappearing behind the horizon. From the moment the sun is hidden there is almost one more hour of beautiful light and hues on the sky, behind the horizon and on the surface of the sea.
This photo is the result of a two exposure composite, no HDR, blended manually using Luminosity Masks. The first exposure was for the foreground and the second one for the sky. Both were taken well after sunset when the afterglow turned the sea into yellowish-orange at first and then gave a more purple hue.
I used a circular polarizer and a Manfrotto 190 XPROB with a 804RC2 head
